The Horowitz family would like to welcome you to their historic farm and private estate located in Whitesboro, TX. Glen and Jennifer Horowitz love living and raising their family surrounded by nature in the Texas countryside. They designed and built their own home, which has been featured in Country Home Magazine and Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.

When Jennifer began documenting the transformation of their property into a private estate on her Instagram, she started picking up followers loving her ideas and content. Friends, family, and fans especially loved seeing the progress of Old Center Chapel and Osage Hall being brought to life through Jennifer's eyes on Instagram.

Today, Thistle Hill Estate continues to thrive and evolve as the Horowitz family respectfully cares for and cultivates the land. They also love sharing their private property with wedding couples who choose to start their lives together here on the estate.  Jennifer and Glen's main goal for all guests at Thistle Hill Estate is that each person has a wonderful experience and leaves feeling like one of the family.

The History of Thistle Hill Estate

Thistle Mark
Thistle Hill Estate was originally settled in the 1850s by the same owner the Horowitz family purchased it from in 2014. They feel that a person does not really "own" land like the 56+ acres that surround their family home. Instead, they believe they are just temporary stewards. With that as our philosophy, Glen and Jennifer always tread lightly and make decisions and additions that only enhance the property.

They decided to build a small, white chapel to pay homage to the Old Center Church on the land. Baptisms were performed in the adjacent creek that flows by the Chapel. Unfortunately, the original church was torn down in the 1950s. The Horowitz family loved the idea of designing, building, and opening up a new chapel in its place. Old Center Chapel is a gorgeous white chapel with an aisle lined with twenty vintage church pews and encased by picture windows with beautiful views of the gardens, wooded areas, and pasture.

In order to entertain guests and open Thistle Hill Estate up as a venue – Osage Hall was built. Surrounded by Osage trees and green pastures, the modern, black barn was designed and built as an event hall. Inside Osage Hall, there is an elaborate fireplace with a custom Osage tree branch mantle. On the exterior, there is an exclusive use patio adorned with twinkling string lights, an outdoor bar, a staging area, and a firepit.

Today, Thistle Hill Estate provides guests (especially wedding couples) with an "authentic," upscale venue, which has welcomed famous athletes, musicians, models, and politicians as guests.
